The General Board shall serve as the board of directors of the Church of the Nazarene, Inc., and shall have primary authority with regard to non-ecclesiastical policies and plans—that is, with regard to topics such as budgeting, auditing, property management, and legal issues. The General Board shall encourage and expect all national, regional, district, and local boards to fulfill the mission of the Church of the Nazarene, which is to propagate Christian holiness in the Wesleyan tradition, and shall facilitate the progress of the global church in each nation and/or region. The General Board shall promote the financial and material affairs of all committees of the Church of the Nazarene, subject to instructions as may be given by the General Assembly. It shall coordinate, correlate, and unify plans and activities of the constituent committees so that a unified policy may be established by and in all activities of the Church of the Nazarene. It shall have power to direct auditing of the accounts of all departments and institutions relating to or associated with the Church of the Nazarene, and it shall direct the business and administrative affairs of the denomination, as well as the departments of the Church of the Nazarene, Inc. and of all organizations and institutions that are a part of, related to, or associated with this denomination. These departments, organizations, and institutions shall give due consideration to the advice and recommendations of the General Board.
